What is PANDAS?
PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) is a pediatric disorder where children suddenly develop obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), tics, or both, following a streptococcal infection such as strep throat or scarlet fever.
Early recognition and timely evaluation are crucial for effective management and family support.

Recognize the Signs:
- ADHD symptoms
- Separation anxiety
- Mood changes, such as irritability, sadness, emotional lability (tendency to laugh or cry unexpectedly at what might seem the wrong moment)
- Trouble sleeping, night-time bed-wetting, day-time frequent urination, or both
- Changes in motor skills (eg, changes in handwriting)
- Joint pains
